Recover and Restore

Experience painless corrective movement therapy with personalized coaching for lasting health and wellness.

Recover & Restore is a personalized care program for individuals experiencing physical pain, discomfort, or limitations in movement. This program is designed to support people navigating injuries, chronic tension, or ongoing physical challenges through individualized bodywork and movement-based care.

This is not a standardized treatment plan. Each session is shaped by your presentation, your history, and how your body responds over time.

If you are dealing with a physical ailment and looking for a more attentive, body-informed approach, Recover & Restore offers structured support rooted in Sotai and movement analysis.

How it works

1: Start With a Trial Session

We believe everyone should begin with a trial session ($100).

Bodywork is personal. Pain, injury, and physical limitations affect more than just the body—they affect your daily life. We understand that trusting someone with that takes time. The trial session is designed to give you space to experience our approach without pressure or commitment.

During this session, our focus is simple:

  • Understanding what you’re dealing with

  • Listening to your concerns and goals

  • Answering your questions honestly

  • Making sure you feel heard, supported, and confident in the process

This is a one-time trial, with no obligation to continue.

2: Decide if Recover & Restore is Right for You

After the trial, you decide how to move forward.

If you feel aligned with the work and want to continue, you may enroll in the Recover & Restore Program. If not, that’s okay—there is no pressure or expectation.

Should you choose to continue, your trial session is not included in the full package, but a $25 discount is applied as a thank-you for committing to the process.

3: The Recover & Restore Program

The full Recover & Restore program is $750 and includes 8 total sessions.

We don’t believe in quick fixes. While it is absolutely possible to feel relief after a single session, our goal goes deeper than temporary improvement. This program is designed to address underlying patterns so that the issue doesn’t return and continue to interfere with your life.

Each session builds on the last, combining Sotai-based bodywork with individualized movement guidance to support long-term recovery, resilience, and physical freedom.

This is not plug-and-play care.
This is a structured, thoughtful process designed for real people who want real, lasting change.

Here is our process

Step 1: Meet and Greet!

First and foremost, thank you for choosing us! We are here to make sure you able to address your concerns and questions you may have about the physical conditions you may be concerned about. Whether it is the first time or not, we want to make sure you feel welcome and safe.

Step 2: Assessment

We will take an extensive assessment. Questions about how long, pain level, what happened, medications (if related to physical condition), movement patterns, activity level, and more.

After the trial sessions, we will touch base on progress and see if we need to make adjustments.

Step 3: Sotai Session

Sotai is all about gentle, painless movement. All the movements utilized will be tailored to how your body feels and responds. NO painful massage, cracking, or manual stretching.

Step 4: Post-Session

Post-session is about what to do at home. We will be sending you home with exercises and stretches tailored for your needs and abilities based off the assessment and the session.

Step 5: Freedom

Our goal is to provide freedom of movement. Whether its long-lasting or a step towards full recovery, we want you to feel refreshed after the session.

"As a violinist who has suffered from chronic pain for nearly a decade after an injury, seeing Kenichi at Kiyama Bodyworks has been life-changing. I had sought help from numerous health practitioners, including acupuncturists, chiropractors, and physical therapists. While I initially responded to treatment, the effects always wore off after a few months. I was close to giving up hope, accepting that I might never play the violin professionally—or without pain—again, until I met Kenichi and discovered Sotai.

Though my healing journey has had its ups and downs, I’ve experienced far greater improvement with Kenichi’s Sotai treatment than with any other therapy. His background as a violinist is an added bonus, as his personal experience allows us to work together to identify flaws and make improvements in my playing.

I am deeply grateful for Kenichi’s expertise, empathy, and dedication. His Sotai treatment, combined with his positive demeanor and vast knowledge of the human body, has made a significant difference in my healing process. Thanks to his care, I have experienced lasting improvements that no other therapy has provided, greatly enhancing my quality of life. I highly recommend Kenichi at Kiyama Bodyworks to anyone seeking effective, compassionate care through Sotai treatment."

Frequently asked questions

Who is this program for?

Recover & Restore is for people dealing with ongoing physical discomfort, movement limitations, or recurring issues that haven’t fully resolved through conventional routes. Many of our clients have tried physical therapy, massage, chiropractic care, acupuncture, or even surgery and are still searching for something that actually helps them move and feel better.

If your body doesn’t feel the way it should—and you’re ready for a more individualized, hands-on approach—this program may be a good fit.

Many clients who explore this program have previously tried more conventional approaches such as physical therapy, surgery, massage, shiatsu, chiropractic care, or acupuncture.

What kinds of issues do you work with?

We work with a wide range of movement-related issues, including chronic tension, joint discomfort, restricted mobility, postural imbalances, and recurring pain patterns. Sessions are not diagnosis-based or symptom-chasing; instead, we focus on improving how your body organizes movement so it can function more efficiently and comfortably. Click here to see more!

Do I get anything to work on between sessions?

Yes. You’ll receive individualized movement assignments designed specifically for your body. These may include simple exercises, stretches, or movement patterns that reinforce the changes made during your session and support long-term improvement—without overwhelming you or taking over your life.

How is this different from maintenance or wellness sessions?

Recover & Restore is more focused and goal-oriented. While maintenance sessions are for ongoing wellness, this program is for people who need deeper attention, problem-solving, and structured support to get out of a physical rut and move toward lasting change.

Is this medical treatment or physical therapy?

No. Recover & Restore is not a replacement for proper medical care and does not diagnose or treat medical conditions. It is a movement-based bodywork and coaching program designed to improve physical function, comfort, and awareness. If you have a severe medical condition or injury, please ask your doctor or primary care physician for guidance.

If your condition is something we cannot work with, we will let you know immediately.

How many sessions do I need?

To ensure progress and room for adjustment in the road to recovery, we require a minimum of 8 sessions.

What is Sotai, and how is it different?

Sotai is a Japanese bodywork method that works with your nervous system and natural movement patterns rather than forcing correction. Instead of pushing through restriction, we use comfortable, intentional movements to help your body reorganize itself.

The goal is to restore balance, coordination, and ease—often where other approaches stall. Click here to learn more!

How do I know if this is right for me?

If you’re looking for individualized care, thoughtful problem-solving, and a practitioner who works with your body rather than against it, this program is worth exploring. The best way to know is to experience a session and see how your body responds.

If you feel like, you are not making progress you are happy with, please let us know immediately.
